Bathtub Resurfacing: Restoring Acrylic and Enamel Baths

A chipped, stained or dull bathtub rarely needs replacing. Resurfacing restores the existing bath in place, without removal, retiling or plumbing work.

What bathtub resurfacing is

Resurfacing, also called reglazing or refinishing, repairs the damage in an existing bathtub and applies a new, durable finish over the original surface. The bath stays where it is.

We resurface both acrylic and enamel baths, on site, for hotels, residences and private homes in Dubai and across all seven emirates.

What it puts right

Resurfacing addresses the problems that cleaning cannot:

  • Chips, cracks and deep scratches in the surface.
  • Stains, discolouration and yellowing.
  • A worn, dull or porous finish that no longer cleans well.
  • An outdated colour, refinished to a clean modern white.

When it is the right choice

Resurfacing suits a bath that is structurally sound and whose damage is in the surface. If the tub itself has failed, we say so and recommend the right alternative.

It is particularly useful where a room has to return to use quickly: hotel bathrooms, apartments between tenants, and homes in the middle of a refurbishment.

How we resurface a bath

Preparation decides how long the new finish lasts, so most of the work happens before any coating is applied.

  • Preparation: old sealant and fittings are removed, the surface is deep cleaned, and every chip and crack is filled and sanded smooth.
  • Protection: surrounding tiles, floors and fittings are masked, and the room is ventilated throughout the work.
  • Adhesion: the original surface is treated so the new coating bonds to it permanently.
  • Finish: primer and top coats are sprayed in even layers for a smooth, high-gloss result.

Caring for a resurfaced bath

The new finish needs to cure fully before the bath is used. We confirm when it is ready. After that, simple care keeps it looking new:

  • Clean with mild, non-abrasive liquid cleaners and a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Rinse after use so soap residue does not build up.
  • Avoid scouring powders, bleach, drain cleaners and acid-based products.
  • Avoid suction-cup bath mats, which trap moisture against the surface.
  • Repair a dripping tap promptly, before it marks the finish.
