Elevator Panel Scratch Repair
Scratched and scuffed stainless steel lift doors and panels can be restored on site, with the grain matched to the original, instead of waiting for replacement panels.
Why lift panels matter
Lifts are among the first things residents, guests and tenants see, and among the hardest-used surfaces in a building. Luggage trolleys, deliveries and furniture moves leave scratches and scuffs that make a well-kept building look neglected.
Replacement panels are often made to order and the lift may be out of use while they are fitted. Restoring the existing panels avoids both.
Brushed and mirror finishes
Brushed stainless steel has a grain running in one direction. A repair has to follow that grain exactly; working across it leaves marks that catch the light. Mirror finishes are polished in stages until the repaired area reflects like the rest of the panel. We restore both.
What can be restored
Most damage to lift panels is in the surface and can be restored:
- Light scuffs from cleaning equipment and luggage.
- Scratches through the grain.
- Deeper gouges, which are filled before the grain is refinished.
- Discolouration and cloudy marks left by unsuitable cleaning products.
How we restore a panel
- Protection: the lift floor, controls and surrounding surfaces are masked.
- Restoration: scratches are removed and the grain or mirror finish is refinished to match the original.
- Finishing: the panel is checked against the surrounding surface in the light it is seen in, then protected.
Keeping panels looking new
Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and a microfibre cloth, wiping along the grain. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach-based products, which scratch and dull stainless steel.

Questions
Elevator Panel Scratch Repair — your questions
Can scratches be removed from stainless steel lift doors?
Yes. Scratches and scuffs are removed on site and the grain is refinished to match the original panel.
Will the repaired area match the rest of the panel?
Yes. Brushed panels are refinished along the original grain and mirror panels are polished to the same reflection.
Does the lift have to be taken out of service for long?
Only while the panels are being worked on. The work is carried out in place, without removing the panels.
Do you restore other stainless steel as well?
Yes. Handrails, balustrades, entrance doors, escalator cladding and kitchen surfaces are restored the same way.
Which areas do you cover?
Dubai and all seven emirates of the UAE, for landmarks, commercial towers, hotels and public buildings.
